Memorial or tribute gifts

Memorial or tribute gifts are gratefully accepted by the hospital for the benefit of our programs. Donors receive acknowledgement letters for their gifts. Notification letters are also mailed to honorees or the designated family member, informing them of gifts made in their honor or in memory of a loved one. Notification letters provide name and address information only.


Gifts of stock or electronic cash transfers are coordinated with the development office in partnership with individuals and their financial institutions.

Planned giving

A gift to Shriners Hospitals for Children - Portland in your will or trust, or by beneficiary designation, can ensure happy and healthy tomorrows for children. Some legacy gifts, such as a charitable gift annuity, can provide reliable income to you or a loved one for life. Your long-term commitment to our mission ensures our ability to deliver expert specialty care regardless of the families' ability to pay.

Major and directed use gifts

Major and directed use gifts are meaningful ways that individuals can advance programs of the hospital for the benefit of children. Careful planning and consideration is given to all such gifts in consultation with donors, their families and legal or wealth advisors to ensure that the donor's wishes are met. Naming opportunities and recognition are available.

Corporate matching gifts

Many companies offer employees the opportunity to give to charities through a convenient payroll deduction plan, sometimes doubling or tripling the impact of the gift. Contact your human resources department for more information. We would be pleased to assist in any way.

State specific giving opportunities

The Oregon Charitable Check off

Look for Shriners Hospitals for Children - Portland on the last page of the Oregon State tax return. There, you can designate all or portions of your tax return to the hospital for use in the POPs Northwest services.

Washington State Combined Fund Drive
