Peter Scoles, M.D.

Peter V. Scoles, M.D., is a member of the spine team for Shriners Hospitals for Children - Philadelphia. He received an undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University and earned a medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. Dr. Scoles completed his residency at Ohio State University Hospitals and Columbus Children's Hospital. Prior to joining the Shriners Hospitals medical staff in 1998, he led the scoliosis and spinal deformity team at the Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital at Case-Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

Areas of special interest to Dr. Scoles include operative and non-operative management of scoliosis and related spinal deformities.

Dr. Scoles is a professor of orthopedics and pediatrics and senior associate dean at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is board certified and re-certified (1996, 2014) in orthopedic surgery. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society,  American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, American Orthopedic Association, Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America and Scoliosis Research Society.
