James Y. Liau, M.D.

James Y. Liau, M.D.

James Y. Liau, M.D., FACS, is a pediatric plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Shriners Hospitals for Children Medical Center - Lexington and is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is the director of hand service at UK Healthcare and assistant professor of surgery at the University of Kentucky. He received an undergraduate degree in anthropology and psychology at University of California at Berkeley and earned a medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. Dr. Liau completed his residency in plastic surgery at the University of Kentucky and a fellowship in pediatric reconstructive surgery and craniofacial surgery at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Areas of special interest to Dr. Liau include congenital problems requiring pediatric plastic surgery, aesthetic surgery, congential anomalies, craniofacial reconstruction, and congenital craniofacial deformities.

Dr. Liau is a member of the American Association of Pediatric Plastic Surgeons, American Society of Plastic surgeons, American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons and Kentucky Society of Plastic Surgeons.
